Choose best option for Social Housing in Australia

Social Housing Benefit is a social security benefit paid by the Housing Executive. It helps people on a low income pay their rent and rates. You do not need to be unemployed to get Housing Benefit. NCCHC provides long-term services of social housing in Australia. It is for eligible people with special needs and people on low and moderate incomes in the far north coast of New South Wales. If you are eligible for social housing, you will be placed on the Housing Register from the date your application was received.
Social landlords are the bodies that own and manage social housing. They tend to be non-commercial organizations such as local authorities or housing associations. Social housing and landlords are tightly regulated. Social housing is allocated according to need. It is not like the the private rental sector, in which tenancies are offered according to the free choice of the landlord or existing household in question.
Social rented homes play a key role in providing affordable housing, and the current shortage of social housing creates many problems. Shelter believes it is vital that the current shortage of social housing is addressed, and we have campaigned for years for an increase in the national rate of social house building. Demand for social rented housing is increasing each year. It must be ensured enough family-sized homes are built. Also the new units should be well designed, environmentally sustainable, and accompanied by facilities that will create thriving communities.
